The UCL (Userlink) team

The Userlink team is centred around UCL, but includes experts on Monte Carlo event generator development and use from almost all of the current and planned collider physics experiments worldwide.

The UCL High Energy Physics group consists of ten tenured academic staff and a team of around 45 post doctoral researchers, technical staff and PhD students. They work on experiments at DESY (ZEUS), CERN (ATLAS), FNAL (MINOS, CDF) and on the NEMO neutrinoless double beta decay experiment, as well as having smaller involvements in particle phenomenology and neutrino astrophysics.

In addition to the core members from UCL, the Userlink team includes members of the CEDAR project based in Durham. Although in the same institute as members of the Durham team (the IPPP), they are functionally part of the Userlink team and it makes sense for their research expenses to be funded through UCL. Indeed this is what already happens for their work on the CEDAR project.

The Userlink team also includes users of the network's projects based throughout the world. These have been selected to join the team because their experimental or theoretical work is of great importance to the development, validation, tuning and deployment of our event generators. Moreover, because all are well-connected within their respective communities, they will act as gateways to the wider user community.
